The Instituto Antártico Argentino (IAA), created on April 17, 1951 as the first organism in the world to be exclusively devoted to Antarctic research, is the rector institution for the activity of science and technology carried out by the Argentine Republic in Antarctica.
The following document includes the antecedents of the Institution, its mission, its strategic priorities and the priority lines of investigation in which the Argentine Republic focuses its efforts.
